Elisabeth Pawelke is a soprano and harpist from Munich, Germany, who is specialized in music from medieval to Baroque and also open to many other musical styles. She is holding a Master of Music degree in Early music voice as well as a Master of Arts degree in music pedagogy. Her studies of voice and harp led her to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the University of Early Music in Switzerland and to the University of Music in Trossingen. Additionally she received voice lessons by Eric Mentzel, Sabine Lutzenberger and Gundula Anders and participated in master classes, e.g. with Emma Kirkby. At the Universities in Munich and Basel she also studied music pedagogy, musicology and German medieval philology. She performed, amongst others, with the Ensembles Almara, RicciCapricci, VocaMe, Estampie and Faun and sang at festivals such as the Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht, the International Messiaen Festival in Neustadt a. d. Weinstraße, Winterzauber Bad Kissingen (Germany), Medieval Folk Night/ Arena van Vletingen Gent (Belgium), Fiesta Celtica Biella (Italy), Savari Karn (Hungary), Nit medieval Pallejá/Barcelona (Spain), and many more. After the release of the CD "Outros Amores" together with her Ensemble Almara she recorded a CD with the Ensemble VocaMe for the label Christophorus which is dedicated to the works of Kassia, a female composer and poet of the 9th century Byzantine Empire. Together with the Ensemble RicciCapricci she released the CD "Perla mya cara" dealing mostly with Italian and Spanish Renaissance music. Additionally to that she is performing solo in concerts while accompanying her voice on her harps and frequently giving courses on medieval voice, harp and ensemble playing at international festivals. She is also teaching voice regularly in a music school and working on her Ph.D. in musicology at the center of medieval and Renaissance studies in Munich.
