Lisa Lekis

(1917-1995) Sociologist-author-educator. Researcher of Latin American and Caribbean music and dance. Teacher at California College of the Pacific Folk Dance Camp (now Stockton Folk Dance Camp) in early 1950s. In 1953, she and husband Walter created a CD of Caribbean dances for Folkways Records. In 1962, she was a teaching staff member at the Santa Barbara Folk Dance Conference.
