Rock
Lithic is an original five-piece from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since forming in 1999, Lithic has continued to evolve. Over the years Lithic, with their semi-progressive hard rock style, became one of the city's top acts, gaining hard-earned respect from the local music scene. The band to date has released three E.P.'s, and has played all over Wisconsin and its surrounding states. In January 2005, some of the members found themselves going in different directions, so they all decided to take a break from the project. A couple of months later the founding members, comprised of bassist Jay Cordella, guitarist Will Hansen, and vocalist Tom Riddle, concluded that Lithic would continue on in a new musical direction. While reviving some of the original ideas from the first incarnation, the three also dreaw inspiration from their new and ever growing musical taste. With the addition of drummer Mike Matuszak in late 2005, Lithic found their new musical direction come into full view. In January of 2007 Lithic released their 3rd EP titled "Through New Eyes" to a few hundred cheering fans who were brave enough to tackle a Milwaukee snow storm. After the warm reception from their local fan base the new CD immediately began drawing national attention from music reps and press, which landed them a major label showcase and opened up several opportunities for the band including openning up for several major national touring acts. Not a band to rest on its laurels, however, Lithic began to search for ways to make their musical hooks even bigger and better; and in late 2007 they added guitarist Brian Gresser to the fold. The five-piece began working on new material, and with a development deal in hand, Lithic recorded several new live demo tracks. Currently the band is fine turning these songs before returning to the studio for their final release, which is slated to hit several broadcast radio markets across the nation in 2008.
