Enter The Lizard - An Introduction To Lizzie Tear

Album UK 1988 on EMI label
Electronic and Pop (Synth-pop)

Issued in a cardboard box, which slots together concealing the CD in the front flap. An 8-page booklet can be found enclosed in the centre of the box. From the booklet; "Enter The Lizard - An Introduction To Lizzie Tear Lizzie Tear's voice has been described as the voice of a knowing angel and "Enter The Lizard" displays a selection of songs from her debut album, "Barfly Girl". Lizzie Tear was born in Ladbroke Grove and in her first 21 years has lived an eventful life; Lizzie toured the world with her Dad, celebrated tenor Robert Tear, danced across the pages of leading style magazine The Face and appeared in publication's only television commercial, whilst the image of her face was to be seen by millions during the credits for the rock programme "The Tube". Apart from her high spirits and rude health, she is a classically trained singer and plays a variety of instruments - oboe, violin and piano. She owns a pet iguana and has a green reptile etched on her hip. (Her one regret is not being able to play guitar). At 15 Lizzie worked at Vivienne Westwood's Worlds End shop and it was there, over a bottle of Cointreau on a rainy afternoon that she wrote her first song, the lament that, "Life Wont Be The Same". Occasionally flamboyant, raw and hungry to experience everything, Lizzie was swept swiftly into the world of party people. Friends that she met encouraged her to record her songs and a major record deal with EMI Records followed. Her early demos attracted the attention of producers Mark White and Martin Fry and the result of their first collaboration is "Turobcharged", a powerful and imediate dance song about free feeling, speed, sunshine and Jaguar cars. "Follow Me" is a more philosophical and elusive song with Lizzie's vocal ability on full display - soulful, feminine and introverted. "TV Temple" is a hard and humourous metal-dance track featuring the international catchphrase - "Come on down" from Leslie Crowther's television game show. Songwriter, siren, Lizzie Tear is set to pounce."
