Single 1958 on Cook label
Reggae, Folk, World and (Calypso)
The Devil is a unique recording. The song had been recorded as a single for GEMS/Melodisc and would later be rerecorded for Cook as Devil Down Dey (on the compilation Calypso Exposed). The Beast is the only known recording of this song, which is one of Melody's many songs about his perceived ugliness. The Devil was also released backed with Sugar Pie around the same time, using the same catalogue number.
