Composer of Latin, Folk and World
Paraguayan harpist and composer born in Ybytymi in Aug/11/1924. He learned to play the harp (Arpa) in his hometown and began his professional career at the age of 16. He developed a distinguished career as an interpreter of the Paraguayan harp, next to the famous Felix Perez Cardozo, with whom he worked for two and a half years until 1952, and then in Europe integrating different popular bands like Los Guaraníes, Luis Alberto del Parana y Los Paraguayos and others. He recorded numerous albums as soloist and with the Dúo Vargas - Saldívar, El Trío De Oro and Lucio Milena. His recording career includes works on international labels Odeon, CBS, RCA Victor and Philips, in addition to the Paraguayan labels Guarania, Amambay, and Marpar. Author of more than 120 compositions among which are: Ybytymí, Ykua Potrero, Arpa Rory Pu, Kurukau Veve, Ña Seve, Mi Abuelita, HAT Í, Karai Fermí, Charara, A Mi Estrellita. Melgarejo Jeroky, Soldado Del Chaco and others. After being hospitalized for a few days in the intensive care ward of the Military Hospital of Asunción, he died on the morning of Monday, 26 September 2005, at 81 years old.
