Panamanian rock band founded in Panama City in 1988. In 1989, they released their first EP, “Llévate Lo Que Quieras” (Take What You Want), including their best-known songs: ‘Múdate O Muérete’, ‘Alguien Te Espera’ and ‘Ya Ni Me Llamas’. In 1991, their first full-length, “Malas Compañias” (Bad Apples) and the single ‘Tengo Miedo’ became a hit in many radio stations. In 1993, the band released their second album simply titled “Los 33”, which became a fan favorite. In 1997, Los 33 found international recognition with their album “Renacimiento Letárgico” (Lethargic Rebirth). The video for the song ‘No Tengo A Donde Ir’ saw heavy rotation in MTV Latino. The band toured and shared the stage with Enrique Bunbury, Aterciopelados, and others. In 1999, after some line-up changes, the band returned with an acoustic album titled “Experimento Acustico” (Acoustic Experiment), which was well received by fans and critics alike. Two more studio albums were released: “Arriba” (2002) and “On” (2003), which show the band further maturing the hard rock sound presented on their first releases. In 2007, the band was voted the best rock-pop band at the “Sexta Entrega de los Premios PanamaRock”. In 2008, a compilation with their greatest hits, live tracks and brand new songs (plus a DVD with music videos) was released. After that, the band was apparently on a hiatus, however, they seem to be active once again, and they even changed their name to Los 44 in 2013.
