Los Polares

FR
Rock and Pop

Los Polares was born in El Masnou (Barcelona) in the late 50s. Three friends, all teenagers, Antonio Andreu, Francesc Aznar and Juan Antonio Bautista, shared their talents and passion in a band called Los Polaris (they changed one letter later). After the addition of the drummer Adolfo Nieto and the singer Fernando Chica, they won an international contest of beat bands in Recklinghausen (Germany) in 1965. This success let them to remain six months, playing in Dortmund, Munich, Fürt, Essen, Straubing… In 1966 was released by Sono Play an EP with covers of The Pretty Things, The Isley Brothers or The Mamas & The Papas. They recorded another EP some months later, but it wasn’t released until 2018, by Madmua Records.
