Single NL 1968 on CBS label
Rock (Psychedelic Rock)
Original 1968 45 on the Dutch CBS label Way WAY rare and unknown popsike single from Holland 1968 by Lotus Land - if you love phasing, phasing (and more phasing), this is your manna from heaven right here. "Mr. Lion" is a heavily-phased cover of the old Marmalade song, given the big Brill Building treatment and sounding more like a lost Great British Psychedelic Trip track than anything released in the same land as the George Baker Selection. "You And Me Alone", on the other side, is another excellent (and highly phased) organ-heavy slice of baroque popsike, with a whole section devoted to nothing but phased-out a capella vocals. Oh, and dig that GROOVY pic sleeve too, with the band all dressed up and ready to take the stage as stunt doubles for Procol Harum. Why, that even LOOKS like Keith Reid in the middle, doesn't it? If only Procol loved the phase technique as much as these guys...
