Luís Alberto Bettencourt was born in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel (Azores), where he currently lives. He is a musician and composer and maintains a constant activity in the dissemination and elaboration of original works, almost always in atmospheres near the acoustic. He has a career with more than 45 years of experiences related to music in the Azores, the Continent, and the United States. He begins by joining José Medeiros in the "Phoenix", forms the "Construção", where he experiences the fusion between jazz and popular music, and also founds the "Rimanço", with Carlos Guerreiro musician and instrument builder.
