An Italian filmmaker born in Rome on June 17, 1927. He died on March 14, 1996 from complications due to diabetes. He directed over 50 films, covering nearly all genres such as comedies, westerns, historical dramas, action/crime films, family films, science fiction and fantasy films. But he's most well known for his "giallo" films (or violent thrillers), and his gory horror films. His "gialli" include Una Sull'Altra (aka One On Top The Other), Una Lucertola Con La Pelle Di Donna (aka A Lizard In A Woman's Skin), Non Si Sevizia Un Paperino (aka Don't Torture A Duckling), Sette Note In Nero (aka The Psychic), and Lo Squartatore Di New York (aka The New York Ripper). His most well known horror films include Zombi 2 (aka Zombie), Paura Nella Città Dei Morti Viventi (aka City Of The Living Dead), L'Aldila (aka The Beyond), and Quella Villa Accanto Al Cimitero (aka The House By The Cemetery). Composers who have contributed soundtracks to Fulci's films include Piero Umiliani, Detto Mariano, Ennio Morricone, Carlo Rustichelli, Riz Ortolani, Gianni Ferrio, Fred Bongusto, Fabio Frizzi, Franco Bixio, Vince Tempera, Nico Fidenco, Walter Rizzati, Francesco De Masi, Claudio Simonetti, Keith Emerson, Carlo Maria Cordio, Stefano Mainetti, Giovanni Cristiani, and Stelvio Cipriani. He had two daughters, Antonella Fulci and Camilla Fulci.
