Ludichrist is an American band formed in 1984 in Long Island New York. Their musical style broke from traditional New York hardcore roots by adding aspects of rock, heavy metal and jazz, like extended guitar solos and musical interludes. Ludichrist is considered to be one of the crossover movement's bigger bands along with D.R.I.. Frontman Dave Miranda saw his band as crossing into both, punk and metal without firmly belonging into either camp, and claims that the band was influenced by bands around them such as Crumbsuckers and Agnostic Front. The band broke up after their second full-length album, and lead vocalist Tommy Christ and guitarist Glen Cummings went on to form Scatterbrain.
