Ludwig Wilhelm Maurer (auch: Louis Maurer, * 2. Februar 1789 in Potsdam; † 13. Oktoberjul./ 25. Oktober 1878greg. in Sankt Petersburg) Born in Potsdam and considered to be one of the best violinists of his day, worked as musical director for Count Wsewlogski in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where he became director ot the French theater and later received the post of inspector of the Imperial orchestra.
