Italian screenwriter and film director (Roma, 21 March 1928, † Roma 27 October 2013). Before joining to the movie world is screen-script writer with Age (18) and Furio Scarpelli (Age & Scarpelli). After almost 40 jobs joins the movie world with Faustina (1968), first of his over 30 films, but the success came in 1969 with Nell'Anno del Signore, which becames his trademark (comedies set in Renaissance and Papal Rome, full of dramatic situations, not disdaining charades and Roman dialect). For the theater realizes Rugantino, music by Armando Trovaioli (1962), Gaetanaccio (1978), I Sette Re di Roma (1989), the latter directed by Pietro Garinei, music by future Academy Award winner Nicola Piovani, produced by music publisher Piero Colasanti.
