Soprano, Songwriter, Actress. Born in New York. Began singing at age 14. Studied acting with Walter Brough, director of the Stage Society's Little Theater workshop. Became involved in folk-music revival while attending City College, NY. Influences: Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie, Bessie Smith, The Almanac Singers, Marais and Miranda. Relocated to Los Angeles in the early Fifties. Joined the Ballad-Makers. Toured college circuit. Appearances include: Ash Grove, Los Angeles, CA; Gate of Horn, Chicago, IL; Bitter End, NY; Padded Cell, Minneapolis, MN; Westinghouse TV; CBS TV; guest appearances on several LPs and a solo LP for Warner Brothers Records.
