M'Bamina (lightning) were formed the 1st July 1972 by 8 boys who found In Italy tools & equipment to play, making their first great show at Le Rotonde di Garlasco, near Pavia (1973). The band had to wait 2 years for the first album African Roll, produced by french impresario Christian Carbaza and italian club owner Ivo Lunardi. In 1976 their European tour and the great show in Cameroun, at the Stade de Yaounde with Manu Dibango & Claude Francois. In 1977 M'Bamina opened the James Brown's concert Au Pavillon de Paris. The main sources that mark their music were R.& B., Afro-Cuban and traditional, a show in which instrumental music, dance and song blend together.
