Dance and Electronic
A.k.a. Bruce Mac Vaughn
Mac Vaughn (formerly Uphonic), one of the early trance and techno pioneers through the late 90’s and into 2000, was instrumental in the electronic dance movement in the San Francisco Bay Area. Featured on an MTV documentary about spirituality through dance music, Mac Vaughn gained huge momentum organizing elite underground parties known as ETA (not to be confused with the Irish ETA). Resident to Thump Radio, Mac Vaughn was one of the premier artists to be broadcast on XM Satellite radio as it began to expand in popularity. The Thump crew was also famous for bringing some of the worlds biggest talent to San Francisco with their popular 550 Barneveld and DNA lounge parties.Mac Vaughn has performed on the same lineup as Richie Hawtin, Christopher Lawrence, The Crystal Method, The Black Eyed Peas, BT, Boy George, Sharooz, Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogen and Sphongle. Years of focusing on music production spawned the quirky up and coming label, Fierce Animal Recordings and a passion for the minimal techno sound Mac Vaughn is focusing on today. Watch this space.
