English musicologist, teacher and keyboard player, focused on early music. From 1934 lived and worked in Lisbon, Portugal. On 5 May 1944, with Silva Pereira, he gave in Lisbon the world premiere of Paul Hindemith's Violin Sonata in C major (1939). Born in London, 15 October 1908; died in Lisbon, 12 May 1992.
