Maciej Ożóg is a musician, media theorist and researcher. Since late 80's he has been active in experimental music scene in Poland. In 1992 together with Joanna Niekraszewicz he started a multimedia project Spear, and in 2006 a duo Ben Zeen with Paweł Cieślak. In 2009 he started the solo project Nonstate. In 1998 he established a label Ignis for electronic and electro acoustic experimental music. As a curator he organized many concerts, festivals and exhibitions. Since 2005 to 2009 he was a curator of "Poza horyzont" (Beyond horizon) project for new media art and experimental music. He works at the Electronic Media Department at the University of Łódź. His research focuses on history and theory of media arts, panoptic / postoptic surveillance culture and information society. He has published many articles on aesthetics of interactive art, history and theory of avant-garde film and video art, and experimental music.
