Magneto formed In late 2002 around singer and guitarist Lian Light. After moving to Seattle from Los Angeles, Lian collaborated with producer/engineer Barrett Jones (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Bush) on some demos and they decided to form a band. With Jones on drums and Light on guitar, they searched for the right bass player, and found the perfect fit in Montana native Brian Vogan. The band was now complete. Recording their debut album at Barrett's studio, the Laundry Room, the band set out to create a lush sounding CD based on Light's own unique playing and songwriting style. Inspired by modern, pop and indie rock alike (think Failure meets Jason Faulkner meets Elliot Smith), the four piece's big guitars and drums envelope Lian Light's intimate voice like that ubiquitous red drape. The sound is at times reclusive and sedate, then all at once explosive, driving, and harmonically sweet.
