A.k.a. Hedvig Amalia Christina (Malin) Holmström-Ingers
Malin Holmström-Ingers, which became her name after marrying Enoch Ingers on September 20, 1900, was professionally a Swedish folk high-school teacher for 38 years. Hedvig Amalia Christina (Malin) Holmström was born on September 13, 1872 in Åkarp, Skåne. She died 65 years later on February 3, 1938 in Lund, Skåne. Malin Holmström studied music in Lund, Sweden and at the conservatory of Dresden, Germany. She was also educated in Askov, Denmark to become a folk high-school teacher, and she did other additional studies in Göteborg, Sweden where she passed all exams as also a qualified domestic science teacher. Between 1897 and 1935, Malin Holmsröm-Ingers was teaching at Hvilan folk high-school in Åkarp, Skåne, Sweden where she educated pupils in song, domestic science and hygiene. One early and major achievement for Malin Holmsröm-Ingers is her revision of "Eggelings sångbok" into a modified song book for usage in folk high-school education, and that she did when she was just 25 years old. That book was later also revised and added more songs to. Finally, in 1917, "Den svenska sångboken" was released, containing then of more than 600 songs. And, several of those songs were composed by Malin Holmsröm-Ingers. Malin Holmström-Ingers has also composed music to poems by the Swedish poets Erik Axel Karlfeldt and Anders Österling, and made the piano arrangements to Carl Jonas Love Almqvist's "Songes" (1849).
