Single UK 2010 on Parapsych Records label
Rock and Pop (Acoustic, Soft Rock, Pop Rock, Indie Rock)
Manon Dave is best known for his remixes (Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears) designed for maximum club satisfaction. On his latest single, "Streets Were Raining," he heads off in a different direction by incorporating elements of wistful indie rock and shimmering guitars with his punchy beats into his mix. The original songs comes courtesy of U.S. band Pyramid, and Dave deftly works up a post-shoegaze meets boom-bap sensibility that sounds touching and club-friendly. Galloping Timbaland-influenced beats give the single a hefty crunchiness, but it's the urgent vocals of Pyramid's Steady Baker that serves as the crucial element to make this single an instant summertime classic.
