Manuel Ortiz Guerrero

1897-1933 PY, Villarrica, Paraguay

Born on July 16, 1894 in Villa Rica Del Espíritu Santo, Paraguay. Art Deco era artist, writer of poems. He is better known for his lyrics on "India" a guarania (symphonic poem) composed along with his friend José Asunción Flores. Other poems put on music were “Panambí verá” (Shinning Butterfly), “Nde rendape aju” (I Came To You),“Kerasy” (Insomnia) and “Paraguaype" (In Asuncion). Died on May 8, 1933 (at 39-years old) in Asunción, Paraguay by Hansen disease.
