Manuel Jiménez was born on October 15, 1952 in Rincón Los Hato, Dominican Republic as Manuel de Jesús Jiménez Ortega. Is probably best known for the song "Derroche" that was popularized by the Ana Belén and has been performed by more than 20 international artists, and is the first Dominican song translated into Cantonese (Chinese language), as well as been translated into Portuguese, French, Danish and English. Use Manuel Jimenez for "El Canario" (1895-1975), the Puerto Rican guitarist, conductor and composer.
