Belgian DJ, producer and musician, who is named as one of the innovators of the Belgian New Beat rage during the late 1980's (by playing 45 rpm 12-inch records at a lower speed). He did give that particular style of music its name in an interview but was misinterpreted and presented as the sole inventor of the style. There are of course several more theories as to who actually started the whole movement. In any case, Marc Grouls has played a big part in it both as DJ and through various projects releasing his own New Beat tracks. He has also acted as resident DJ in the well-known Belgian club High Street.
