Musician / Producer of Dance
A.k.a. Marc Jackson Burrows
Marc JB started out playing thrash guitar in underground clubs, before becoming the accomplished multi-instrumentalist he is today and when he was introduced to Lee Dagger “Bimbo Jones” was born. Together they have become one of the most prolific #1 remix & productions teams in the world and reworked the likes of The Killers, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kylie, Melanie Amaro, Rita Ora, Tom Jones and Annie Lennox to name but a few. Having had success with over 70 Club Chart # 1’s and sat at the top of the UK National Chart #1 spot for two consecutive weeks with their co-production skills on Meck ft Leo Sayer “Thunder In My Heart Again”, they also co-produced with Latino legend, Sergio Mendes for his latest album “Bon Tempo” which won a 2010 Latin Grammy and was a Grammy nominee for Best Contemporary World Music Album. They have also just finished co-writing with Cyndi Lauper for a Broadway musical. After the pair’s introduction to South London songstress Katherine Ellis, Bimbo Jones “The Band” was born. Katherine’s extensive credentials include four chart hits with the Ruff Drivers, touring with Roger Sanchez as a featured vocalist and the co-writing the massive Salsoul Nugget hit “If You Wanna”. They’ve performed at the infamous Glastonbury Festival twice, supported Chicane and Sir Tom Jones and soon they were to be were picked up by original ‘Madchester’ icon Mike Pickering and signed to Columbia records. Mr Pickering said their debut single “Harlem One Stop” had energy reminiscent of Black Box’s classic ‘Ride On Time’. Soon after that it went on to peak at the top of the club chart and soon after they were quickly snapped up by Tommy Boy (New York), Happy Music (France) and Ego (Italy) & Stomp (Australia). The boys second studio album “Go Naked”, soon to be released on Radikal Records still features Katherine Ellis but they have also teamed up with some other crème da la crème vocalist including Beverley Knight, Ida Corr, Gramma Funk, Angie Brown & Kristine W. Marc also has many other feathers to his production bow and next on the agenda is a collaboration with some of the worlds disco’s greats (Jocelyn Brown, Junior Giscombe, John Altman, Aurora Dawn & Leo Sayer to name but a few) alongside his production partner, Simon Bartholomew of the Brand New Heavies, under the guise of “JBZ”. Together they have invented “iDisco” something that you will all be hearing on the airwaves very soon! And last but not least, not content with sleeping at night Marc is also busy pioneering his self titled genre “Future Disco” for which he will be debuting via Audio Network featuring a whole host of famous guest musicians and vocalist’s that will get everyone on their feet and we’re sure by some of the names listed above its going to be rockin’!
