Marco Barbieri

Owner of Salem Rose Music and M-Theory Audio. Marco started Salem Rose Music in 2007 upon his return home to Las Vegas after 17 years of working for labels in Los Angeles. Marco started listening to metal in 1977 when a schoolmate in 2nd Grade introduced him to KISS. Overnight his life changed and he has fanatically followed all forms of hard rock and heavy metal since. While in high school Marco began getting zines like World Metal Report, Sledgehammer Press, and European mags like Metal Forces and Metal Hammer and started writing letters to bands, ordering demos and tape trading. He became a street teamer while in high school for bands as diverse as Poison and Flotsam & Jetsam. In 1987, Marco attended the Univerity of the Pacific for an Entertainment Management degree. While there he started No Glam Fags fanzine, which later morphed into the more pro mag Ill Literature. Also, while at UOP Marco frequented the Bay Area music scene during the heyday of thrash metal and started managing the bands The Horde of Torment (formely Pestilence LV) and Epidemic. Upon graduation in 1991 Marco began working for Metal Blade Records where he handled Publicty and A+ R. He worked campaigns for Gwar, Cannibal Corpse, the Goo Goo Dolls, Fates Warning, Armored Saint, Gwar and many more, and signing the bands Crisis, Broken Hope, Desultory, Decoryah, Paradise Lost and Skrew. In 1995 Marco transferred to Century Media Records overseeing all label operations (including those of Nuclear Blast America, Noise, InsideOut, and Liquor & Poker Music) until 2007 when he decided to step down and return home to Las Vegas and work in the family business (Property Management and Investments) and to raise his young son. Music being such a large passion Marco decided he couldn't give up on it entirely and started Salem Rose Music. Begun as a Music Publishing and Consulting company it has since grown to handle Artist Management and Concert Promotion. Today his mgmt roster includes Flotsam and Jetsam, Warbringer, Exmortus, Bonded By Blood, Hatchet and Eliminate. In addition, Marco has his own record label imprint, M-Theory Audio, with an artist roster including Cultural Warfare, Sicocis, Blessed Curse, Avenger of Blood, and Apothesary.
