A native of New England soprano Margaret Hunter was educated at Pomona College (California), University College (Oxford University) and the Longy School of Music (Boston). A scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service led then to Bremen, where she studied with Harry van der Kamp and Stephen Stubbs.
