Album US 1990 on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz label
Pop and Soundtrack
Marian McPartland and Barbara Carroll are old friends, having crossed paths many times since the late '40s. They chit-chat during half of Carroll's appearance on Piano Jazz about the old days, conversations only worth hearing once. Carroll performs her own "Too Soon," "My Man's Gone Now" and "Old Friends" (which she also sings in a cabaret style), McPartland improvises on "Imagination" and there are also three duets; best is the closing "There Will Never Be Another You." This particular edition of Piano Jazz is quite relaxed
