Marigo Farr was born and raised in New York City, growing to the sounds of classical music in her home, and doing little- kid-gymnastics while Beatles records played and skipped. She has always loved music, and has also spent a lot of her childhood and young adult life writing poetry, short stories, etc. The fusion of these interests resulted in a sustained interest in writing songs—putting music to words—and performing. Marigo released her first album, Storm in the Bedroom, in the spring of 2009. It is a collection of original tunes featuring voice, guitar, bass, and drums. Marigo is currently working on her second album, Happen to Land, which will be released in April of 2010. This album features voice, guitar, bass, drums, viola, trumpet, and charango. Marigo loves to perform in living rooms, in fields, on beds, in cafes, and at consciousness raising events. While most of her music centers around the human experience of love, relationships, and growing, her politics can sometimes be heard between the lines. After listening to enough of her tunes, one can sense the themes of her commitment to nature, to community, and to challenging convention.
