Marillion
Ahoy, Rotterdam, Netherlands 29 September 1995

Album UK 2003 on Front Row Club label
Rock (Prog Rock)

Originally recorded to multi-track tape, and used partially on the official live release, Made Again, this FRC release features the entire show. It features a rare performance of 'White Russian' plus the AOS B-Side 'Icon' as an intro to 'Beautiful' Due to the 2-hour time limitation of the source DAT, the final encore 'Garden Party' is unavailable, and not included. ''This concert has always been very special to me, as it was the first Marillion concert I attended. Until that day I only knew Marillion from their recordings, and I was really looking forward to the show. I went with a friend of mine (who first got me into Marillion), and I remember during the train ride to Rotterdam making our own wish-list of the songs we wanted Marillion to play. As it was my first gig, I didn't know what to expect - it was great to see a packed Ahoy going wild about all the songs. I was sitting on the 2nd ring in the back of Ahoy, and could still enjoy the energy that was generated by the band during the gig; it was the first time I saw fans 'pogo-ing' to Hooks In You! I think highlights of this concert for me were White Russian and Garden Party, which got stuck in my head on my return back home after the concert. And I was thrilled to experience the Brave songs as I missed out on the Brave tour. It was a fantastic experience, and the gig is still printed in my brain as one of the best I have ever seen. Later, when a couple of songs were released on the Made Again album, it was great to have some sort of memento of my first Marillion gig. But it is even better to have the complete show (well, with the exception of Garden Party!), and with this Front Row Club release I hope to relive the experience of my virgin Marillion years.'' Herbert ter Maat, Front Row Club Member. Track times/listings from CD playback.
