A.k.a. Mario Canci

Prof. Mario Canci graduated in Flute under the guidance of A. Persichilli and G. Di Iorio, and in Electronic Music with R. Bianchini, at the "L. D'Annunzio" Conservatory of Pescara. He studied Flute Dolce with U. Fusco, New didactics of Composition with F. Sifonia, G. P. Chiti and Canto with M. V. Romano, developing the vowel of countertenor with René Jacobs, C. Cavina and M. Bassani. In 1977 he founded the Collegium Arniense ensemble - Teatro degli Strumenti Antichi, with which he holds concerts in Italy and abroad; in 1997 he recorded the CD In Taberna, awarded with the Ottimo and the Cinque Stelle from the magazines «CD Classica» and «Amadeus». He is the artistic director of the Theate Musica Antiqua festival (1987), of the Nativitas festa (2007), creator of the Italian ancient music portal IMA (Italia Musica Antica, www.italiamusicantica.it), and co-driver of the Abruzzo company of popular music Musica Aprutina .
