Brazilian singer. She was born April 27, 1933. Died January 10, 2003. It is home of a family who loved music since childhood and became interested in singing. Due to his calm way of talking, Djalma Sampaio received the nickname "Gata Mansa", who adopted the stage name as yet in the 1950s. In 1953, João Gilberto received the song "You've been with my well?" In 1997, released a CD in honor of columnist and composer Antônio Maria, with emphasis on "Samba de Orfeu" and "Manha de Carnaval", both of Antonio Maria and Luis Bonfa. Also honored him with the disc and musical spectacle "Meeting with Antonio Maria", written and directed by Ruy Faria vocal group MPB-4. Had active participation in musical projects such as "Six-thirty," directed by Herminio Belo de Carvalho and Albino Pinheiro, and "Pixinguinha". Presented in all capital cities and several towns of the country died at age 69 due to acute respiratory failure, the result of cardiac ischemia.
