Croatian drummer, band leader and composer. Born February 27, 1916 in Đurđevac, died February 13, 1992 in Zagreb. Graduated ethnology. Studied music privately in Zagreb, where he started his music carrier as a drummer. From 1935-1940 he led his own jazz orchestra, The Devils. In 1940 he established the Krug ("Circle") publishing company and started the Ritam ("Rhythm") music magazine, which was discontinued in 1941 because of the war. During the WWII he was a member of the Plesni orkestar državne krugovalne postaje Zagreb (Plesni Orkestar RTV Zagreb), where he was a drummer and a conductor for some time. He was also a leader of the Sekstet Nine Selak ensemble. After the war he held a Curator position at the Zagreb Ethnographic Museum for some time, and worked as a music editor at the Zagreb Radio. He married Rajka Vali as her second husband and in 1960 they left for Gemany where they continued their music carriers until the late 1960's. He composed a musical (Stvaramo reviju), and a number of schlager songs in the 1950's for which he received several festival prizes.
