Musician of Jazz, Folk and World
Classically trained bassist and sitar player responsible for creating the Bazantar, a five string acoustic bass with 29 sympathetic strings and 4 drone strings. Mark studied with legendary sitar and surbahar master Imrat Khan in the late 1980's and with a background in non-linear mathematics he began researching the universal fundamentals of music culminating with the development of the Bazantar, finalized in 1997 and awarded a US patent in 1999.
