Big Sister Studio is a recording space located in Cairns, Far North Queensland and was set up in 2011 by Mark Myers. Mark recorded, produced and played with Townsville band The Middle East from 2009 - 2011, touring Australia, Europe & North America. As a producer Mark has recorded over 200 bands and has won four QMUSIC awards (including best album and best song), an musicNT award and has been nominated for an ARIA. Woohoo. Mark has a strong focus on tones & textures, instrumentation, arrangements, attention to detail (but not perfection) and getting a good sound at the source rather than fixing it in the mix. Mark also runs a record label, Junkie Uncle Records, with co-founder Jake Gries. Established in 2012 to release their music and the music of friends, the label has since expanded into bookings, consulting and artist development.
