Mark Wong (b. 1982, Singapore) works in and with sound to devise listening strategies for new and intense possibilities of being. His practice is diverse, comprising of performances of improvised rock, electro-pop and electro-acoustic music, compositions for films and dances, gallery installations, free-form radio shows and live DJ-spinning. He has performed, composed for and/or exhibited at various local and international events, including the Hong Kong City Festival (2006), notthatbalai art festival, KL (2007), Electricity: International Symposium on Electronic Art (2008), Masriadi: Black is My Last Weapon (2008), Studio in Cheras, KL: Open Lab (2008), Choppa Series (2008-09), Month's End Music @ FINDARS, KL (2009), Cityscapes: Singapore Design Festival (2009), and OH! Open House (2011, 2012). His recorded output includes two remixes ("Shiver" and "Usher") that appear on Singapore rock band Lunarin's debut album, The Chrysalis (2006), as well as the original composition "Jumari the Masseur Plays Guitar in an Imaginary Field" released on the Cityscapes: Design by Sound compilation (Perspektif, 2009). The latter was used by artist Goldie Poblador in her work "May Puno sa Dibdib ng Kamatayan (There is a tree in the heart of death)", exhibited at the Sensorium 360° exhibition at the Singapore Art Museum (2014). Wong contributed sound compositions and remixes to the film/video soundtrack of The Trouble With Waiting/Brother No. 2 (Oak3 Films, 2007) and House of Straw (13 Little Pictures, 2009), as well as to Odyssey Dance Theatre's "Garden in My Heart" dance performance (2006). He designed the cover art of Awk Wah's Ava LP (2011) and contributed artwork to The Observatory's Behind These Eyes: The Catacombs Remixes (2014).
