Filips van Marnix, Lord of Sint-Aldegonde (Netherlands), Lord of West-Souburg (Brussels, Belgium) was a Dutch and Flemish writer, statesman, scolar and assistent to William I, Prince of Orange ('Willem van Oranje' in dutch). In French is name was called 'Philippe de Marnix, baron de Sainte-Aldegonde'. He was the probable author of the text of the Dutch national anthem: the Wilhelmus. Born: 1538 Died: 15th of December 1598.
