b. 1935, New York d. 1982, Hawaii (tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver) Marshall Dodge, Maine humorist, developed a nationwide audience for Bert and I by taking his show on the road for nearly twenty years. Bert & I is the name given to numerous collections of humor stories set in the "Down East" culture of traditional Maine. These stories were mostly written by the humorist storytelling team of Marshall Dodge and Robert Bryan (2) in the 1950s and 1960s.
