A.k.a. Billy (42) Billy Blue (6) Marty Hill (2)
Martin Martin is one of the more enigmatic Canadian songwriters/producers of the 60's. Beginning his career in the US under the name Marty Hill, he cut several 45's for US labels such as Columbia, Caprice, Atco, and Brunswick. He came back to his hometown of Montreal, Canada, where he began producing and writing a slew of singles, and cutting several of his own under his new moniker Martin Martin. His most successful of these was the 'Imagine' / 'Say Shalom' single, which saw release in Italy and Denmark, as well as the US and Canada. He also produced and wrote for the cult psych group Rings & Things. His local Montreal label Trax produced several singles by a variety of artists and groups, and today these singles are highly sought-after by collectors of obscure Canadiana.
