Singer / Musician of Country, Rock and Alternative
Guitarist, singer songwriter from Bristol, UK, born 15/05/1952, died 23/02/2011. Martin Moss started his career playing at local folk clubs, moving up through 'rock' and 'country', fronting several local bands. He met Chrissie Hammonds in 1986, and both have been playing and living together until Martin’s passing in 2011. By the early 90's the duo had formed the country rock band "Cheatin' Hearts" which quickly became popular on the British country music scene. They performed with their acoustic band "The Whole Band" playing a mix of covers and Martin's originals. Martin's song writing influences were what he described as "The Texas Story Tellers" such as Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, and the late great Townes Van Zandt, among many others.
