Album UK 2012 on Burning Shed label
Electronic and Classical (Modern Classical, Minimal, Ambient)
Further evidences Ayres' growing reputation for making music of extraordinary emotional reach within environments of equally extraordinary stillness. Sixth album from the British modern classical/ambient composer, this two-disc CD-and-DVD package, recorded in 5.1 surround-sound consistent with the holographic concept, is in the best tradition of his diverse back catalogue of minimalist albums incorporating special soundscapes and psycho-acoustics. Harmogram is Marvin Ayres' term to describe his hybridizing harmonics, harmony and hologram. In six movements and written for cello and string orchestra, the result is over-dubbed with 140 layers, Marvin playing each and every instrument and part but for the fifth movement, which employs a choir.
