Rock fusion band based in Canada. Best known for their single "As The Years Go By", Mashmakhan were first signed to Columbia Records of Canada, Ltd. in 1970. Mashmakhan were named after a kind of hemp by a local peddler. Original lineup was Brian Edwards (bass, vocals), Jerry Mercer (drums), Rayburn Blake (lead guitar), and Pierre Senecal (flute, piano, organ, arranger). The band also toured on the Festival Express, which was later made into a documentary of which the band was also featured.
