Album NG 1979 on Scodisk Sound label
(Funk, Gospel)
I have watched with Utter Dismay the sudden collapse of many young Country Groups who by sheer luck or good Music rose from Grass to Grace. I remember also such groups who've not been able to walk from slums to stardom either for lack of vibes or wrong collection and ill-luck. Whatever their cases, I symphathise with 'em all. Having scrutinized the internal structure of this Band and their fate I have on invitation agreed to write about about 'em. And now let's talk 'bout the Guys. Indeed it's my pleasure to present to you in this manner a creative bunch - "MASISI". In a vast continent like Africa where ev'rybody wants to be a competitor than originator to MASISI the latter is the case. Writing 'bout MASISI is talking about originality. Having suffered a minor failure a while back, these desperate lads have re-emerged with rather a Supreme maturity in professional Music and this Album goes to prove both right. In all they constitute one of the newest but hardest and strongest Funk Acts to invade the nation's contemporary scene in a long time. Put together in one spirit, their emphasis lays upon their creativity, and the professional touch in this debut is purely their efforts and making. MASISI couldn't have attained such heights without the much desired innovation and dedication which they injected into themselves despite odds. Thanks to the entire source that have contributed to up-hold the MASISI towards capturing the various dimension of their ability. So have a play-down brother.
