Album IT 1962 on RCA Italiana label
Classical, Brass and Soundtrack
From back cover: ''This Recording has been the first to be completedat the new studios of RCA italiana, and was actually made even before the official inauguration. The sound demostrates clearly the full reproduction of the whole frequency range, archieved by the most modern technical means. Particularly in '' The Pines Of Rome '' , a complexorchestral work , the listener can appreciate the capacities of Studio A , wich has a volume of almost 400,000 cubic feet and can house a large symphony orchestra and chorus. A further confirmation of the acoustic qualities of Studio A is given by the two selections performed by The Band Of The Arma Dei Carabinieri of Rome. During the recording of this band and the symphony orchestra conducted by Massimo Freccianeither separation panels not artificial echoes were used. The Gershwin music, recorded by Armando Trovaioli and his orchestra gives an outstanding example of the quality of Studio B, which was designed especially for large popular orchestras. The three orchestras used in this record were composed as follows: Symphony Orchestra Of Rome : 2 flutes,1 piccolo ,2 oboes ,1 english horn ,2 clarinets ,1 bass clarinet, 2 bassons ,1 counter basson , 6 french horns ,3 trumpets ,3 trombones ,1 tuba, 1 tinpani ,4 percussions ,1 harp , 1 celesta, 1 piano , 1 organ ,2 sopranos flugelhorns in B flat , 2 tenor flugelhorns in B flat ," bass flugelhorns in B flat , 16 first violins ,14 second violins ,12 violas , 10 cellos , 8 double basses.
