Originally a drummer, Watson played with Mountains In The Sky, Sophia Brous, Deborah Conway, Ella Hooper and Magic Silver White. He has created experimental drum/synth/lapsteel works as duo Fading Fires with virtuoso Chris Rainier, and performed as Taipan Tiger Girls with Ollie Olsen. He played in one of the multi-drummer projects of Japanese band The Boredoms, and with Yeah Yeah Yeahs’s Nick Zinner's 41 Strings/IIII project at Sydney Opera House for the 2012 Sydney Festival. Watson has released several albums of electronica under the name Other Places.
