In the later 60s Kelly played with several wellknown musicians, Mel Brown, Champion Jack Dupree, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker. Later he was associated with the bay scene around The Grateful Dead. In 1981 he became a member of Bob Weirs Bobby And The Midnites
