Matthew is a classically trained cellist but turns his hand to playing a wide range of stringed, keyboard, wind and brass instruments. He also sings and writes songs. Bassist, songwriter and and singer in 90's indie-rock band The Cheesemen, he has since collaborated with Daniel Cray of the Durds, and now fronts Yeoford-based band The Toaks. He has collaborated with Philip Robinson on many musical projects, including music for silent films, has played regularly with improvised music collective Children of the Drone and plays cello with Exeter's EMG Symphony Orchestra.
