Swedish musician and composer, born 25 July 1966 in Stockholm, Sweden. Son of Birgitta Andersson. Matti Bye´s career spans over 25 years during which he has refined different ways of designing music for motion picture. He started his vocation doing live piano improvisations to silent film and cinema and his experience of playing in direct contact to a screen has helped him develop a unique type of award winning sensibility and understanding of the role that music plays in cinematic art. In later years Bye has moved on to compose for contemporary films, TV productions, short films and documentaries but he is still also a regular performer and composer at silent film festivals and screenings around the world.
