A.k.a. Maurílio da Silva Santos Maurilio
Brazilian trumpet player born in Rio de Janeiro on 11th of February 1922. He started his career as musician in 1941, releasing his first record "Convite para Dançar - Maurílio, Seu Pistom com Conjunto" in 1958. His second record, also for RCA Victor, "Convite para Dançar Vol. II - Maurílio e Seu Conjunto" followed one year later. In early '60s he joined the orchestra of Maestro Cipó. Between 1963 and 1969 he has released three records on Odeon under the pseudonym Johnny Star. In 1964 he played the trumpet on legendary Brazilian album by Os Gatos. In 1965 he played flugelhorn on the album "The Music of Mr. Jobim by Sylvia Telles" and in 1967 trumpet on the album "Braziliance" by Marcos Valle. In the '90s he joined the orchestra by Severino Araújo.
